Chris Smalling is frustrated with Manchester United chiefs continuing to block a move to Roma, reports claim.
The centre-back has been frozen out at Old Trafford but is yet to seal a return to Serie A.
He thrived in Italy last season, scoring three goals in 30 Serie A appearances, and is desperate to return to the Stadio Olimpico.
However, Roma are yet to meet Manchester United’s £18million asking price,
United are waiting for Roma to return with an improved offer, which has yet to be submitted.
Smalling has been training on his own at United’s Carrington base after returning from his loan and he is tired of being stuck in limbo.
According to the Daily Mail, Smalling believes that United’s hierarchy should be doing more to facilitate his exit.
He feels he has served the club well in his decade at Old Trafford after arriving from Fulham in a £10m deal.
Now 30, he wants to depart on a permanent basis and settle in Rome.
But United will not budge on their valuation, particularly as they look to raise funds to complete other deals.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told he must sell a defender in order to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles.
Negotiations are ongoing over a deal for Telles, who is believed to have asked Porto to lower their asking price.
Smalling is not the only United player training alone. Marcos Rojo is on a similar regime and United will listen to offers for the Argentina centre-back along with his compatriot Sergio Romero and midfielder Andreas Pereira.
