Chris Packham warns of 'enormous damage' I’m A Celebrity 2020 Trials could do

Autumnwatch star Chris Packham has spoken out about the dangers of using animals such as cockroaches, mealworms and whip scorpions in the trials for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. The naturalist warned that if they were to escape they could cause “severe problems”.

The 56-year-old television presenter also blasted prime time shows for “abusing animals.”

He said he had contacted hosts of the show Ant and Dec to urge them to stop using live animals in their trials on numerous occasions, the Guardian reports.

The ITV programme regularly sees contestants covered in bugs and insects, as well as snakes and rats for the purpose of entertainment.

“We don’t need very popular TV programmes demonising, stereotyping and abusing animals,” Chris said.
