A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Chris was really in love with Jesy and wanted it to work.

“He thought they were going to be together for ever, so seeing pictures of her with Sean’s arms on her bare skin, looking warm and relaxed, was a hard pill to swallow. He’s gutted.

“He’s aware that Sean and Jesy became more friendly and started hanging out soon after they split.

“Breakups are hard enough so with lockdown to deal with as well, it has been doubly tough for him.”

Chris and Jesy were first linked in late 2018 before breaking up by April this year following 16 months of passion.

Last month, Jesy was linked to Our Girl actor Sean – and the duo have looked relaxed together while out in London.

A spokesperson for the singer has shot down speculation there could be romance blossoming.

Jesy and Sean have denied they are anything more than simply friends

They told The Sun: “Jesy has adamantly denied that she is dating Sean Sagar and states that they are just friends.”

Meanwhile, Chris himself hinted he is struggling to get over Jesy during a chat with Vicky Pattinson on her podcast The Secret To…

He confessed: “Everyone says time is a healer, and you don’t believe it in the moment. I don’t think I’d ever felt heartbroken before. I’ve had mates tell me that in time it’ll be all right and you have to accept that.”
