Chris Hemsworth was always destined for Men In Black it seems, as the actor recalls ‘pretending to fight aliens’ with his brother Liam when they were children.

The Thor actor is currently starring in Men In Black: International as Agent H alongside Tessa Thompson, making his debut in the beloved sci-fi franchise.

But it seems that Chris, 35, is actually pretty well skilled at fending off those pesky aliens thanks to he and Liam’s very imaginative childhoods in Byron Bay, Australia where they grew up.

The Avengers star told The Herald Sun that he fondly remembers ‘being a kid in the backyard and pretending to fight aliens’ with Liam, 29, and their older brother Luke Hemsworth.

He added of joining the Men In Black universe: ‘I love this world. I love sci-fi. It was also nerve-racking to take on something that had been done so well before, but I like the challenge and I have a great team.’

Chris and Tessa are currently making their way around the world to promote Men In Black and hosted a premiere in China this weekend.

Alongside photos from the event, Chris said: ‘China you’ve been truly epic. Another one for the books. Can’t thank you enough for the continued support and so excited for you to see the film!’

He was then seen hanging out in Tessa’s dressing room as she got her hair and make-up done, and was thrilled to see dozens of his own photos sprawled across her table.

The pair are one of Hollywood’s favourite duos having starred together in Thor: Ragnarok, and Tessa only has praise for her co-star.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in May, Tessa said: ‘He’s so gifted at comedy. He’s so fun to play with. He doesn’t miss a beat, in terms of improv-ing.

‘He’s a dream. He’s just a dream to work with.’

Fans will be seeing a lot less of Chris in the coming year as the actor has revealed his plans to take a break from Hollywood.

Chris will instead spend some quality time with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children in Byron Bay where they are completing renovations on their mammoth new mansion.

Men In Black: International hits UK cinemas on 14 June.
