Chris Hemsworth admits he made epic parental mistake by sneaking his daughter on to Disneyland ride

Chris Hemsworth may play a superhero in the movies, but in real life he’s just as fallible as any other normal parent.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, alongside three of his Avengers: Endgame castmates, the Australian star revealed that he may have put his young daughter’s safety at risk at Disneyland a couple of years ago.

The Thor actor recounted the time when he cheated to make his little girl, India, taller so that she could ride an intimidating accelerated drop ride.

It’s a move that almost had catastrophic results.

This all started when host Jimmy Kimmel asked the cast – Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) – about their trip to Disneyland last week to celebrate a $5 million grant to benefit children’s hospitals.

Flashing a big smile, Johansson went on to talk about how she, Paul and Chris went on the Guardian of the Galaxy ride.

Moments later, Hemsworth began to tell his story how his daughter wasn’t tall enough to get on the ride when it was previously called the Tower Of Terror, and how he devised a scheme to get her on.

The Thor actor said he stuffed Snickers bars into he little girl, India's, shoes to make her tall enough for the old Tower Of Terror ride a couple of years ago

‘She was really upset and I was like ‘forget this, come here’, so I grabbed a couple of Snickers bars and things and slammed it in the back of her shoe under her heel and I propped her up where she was this much short, walked up and I was like ‘what about now?’ So they’re like ‘okay, in you come’ and I’m like yeah,’ Chris said as the live audiences laughed.

‘We’re at the top and I’m looking at her, she’s strapped in and the seat is massive on her, and I’m like ‘we beat the system honey, well done.’

He then goes on to explain how India, now six, began to rise out of her seat when the ride dropped, and that he had to grab her so she wouldn’t fly out.

‘I grab onto her and she’s screaming the whole way down. Maybe there’s a reason that there’s a height requirement,’ Hemsworth went on to say before Robert Downey Jr. interjected loudly, ‘Maybe?!’

‘So don’t do that. She’s fine. She’s well,’ Hemsworth concluded.

‘I have to say it’s very creative, the Snickers bars in the shoes,’ Kimmel joked with a big grin on his face.

‘That really is — in a pinch.’
