Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host caught taking shortcut through Prince Andrew's estate

Chris Evans, 53, was reportedly “told off” by guards surrounding Prince Andrew’s, 59, estate after trying to cut through the grounds, according to the MailOnline. He was driving his £1.2 million Aston Martin when he was pulled over.

The MailOnline reported that the radio DJ was heading home to his 17th century mansion in Ascot, where he lives with his wife Natasha and their children Noah, 10, Eli, seven and 19-month-old twins Walt and Boo.

The host had been in Windsor donating a washing machine to a local community project.

He reportedly decided to take a shortcut via Bishopsgate, cutting through Windsor Great Park, which is usually only restricted to authorised guests, staff and residents.

But driving through the Great Park shortens the Virgin Radio host’s trip by a considerable amount and avoids the busy A roads back to his house.

Security staff were seen speaking to Chris as he drove his 1964 DB5 convertible to the guarded gates.

Express.co.uk approached Chris’ rep for comment, regarding whether the star had standing permission to pass through the estate.

According to the MailOnline it appeared he was eventually granted access, along with other vehicles including a £50k Classic Rolls Royce Cornicche.

Security has increased at the gates since the Duke of York took part in a BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.

They welcomed back ITV chef James Martin, who joined forces with the Virgin Radio team to raise money for his Festive Friday charity auction.

The auction gave listeners the chance to win a Christmas Dinner package with him and other VIP celebrities at his home.

James revealed he would also be involved in the 2020 CarFest event after purchasing infamous rally driver, Colin McRae’s racing car.

By the end of the show, the radio DJ and his team had given out a staggering amount of money to various deserving charities and individuals who had been nominated for their good work.
