Radio presenter Chris Evans has snubbed Ant McPartlin after saying live on air that he’s ‘disappointed’ that This Morning’s Holly Willoughby won’t be on I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! this year.
As Ant gears up to return to the reality TV show in November to present it alongside partner-in-crime Declan Donnelly, he’s had to deal with some negativity.
Speaking on his radio show on Tuesday, Evans said it was a ‘shame’ that Holly wouldn’t be returning to the jungle-based show for a second year.
He had nothing but compliments for Holly, who he praised for selling out on her Marks and Spencer clothes range, which she launched while she was on I’m A Celeb in 2018.
Speaking on his Chris Evans Breakfast show, he said: ‘That’s not going to happen this year because Ant’s back unless he starts wearing some above the knee numbers.
‘Which is a shame because maybe Ant should or Dec should, it’s not the same for boys, we don’t watch something and go, I must have that shirt.
‘She must be the most influential person from a high street fashion point of view in the country.’
Awks.
It’s made worse by the fact the 2018 series of I’m A Celeb got the highest views on record.
The mum-of-three presented it alongside Dec and the launch episode drew in a record-breaking 14 million viewers.
Holly had joined the show to temporarily replace Ant following his battle with alcohol addiction.
Ant took a break from TV following a car crash in March 2018 where he had drunk twice the legal limit of alcohol.
The presenter was also dealing with a split from his childhood sweetheart Lisa Armstrong at the time.
He’s now back and ready to present I’m A Celeb, even if Evans has a lot to say about it.
Ant and Dec will soon celebrate 30 years of working as a duo, having started on teen drama Byker Grove.
And this will be his 17th year presenting I’m A Celebrity so we’re sure he’ll be just fine.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here will return in November 2019.
