Chris Evans: ‘Don’t want to talk about that!' Virgin Radio DJ awkwardly shuts down co-star

Chris Evans, 53, had a busy couple of days sorting out his belongings after moving house. The Virgin Radio host and his family packed up and moved to pastures new last week, and listeners can only imagine the chaos of unpacking everything with four young children.

The former BBC DJ revealed he had made a start on the garage on Tuesday, using it as a place to store things that he and wife Natasha haven’t found a home for yet in the new house.

“By the way, it’s great to sort your garage out in the sunshine,” he advised listeners, as the UK weather continues to crack the flags.

“We were blessed yesterday with the weather! Can you see?” he said, as he showed his co-star Rachel Horne what seemed to be a photo or a video of him messing around with all his knick-knacks.

As Chris giggled away, Rachel suddenly exclaimed: “You’ve got a vibrating thingy!”

“It’s been great fun, I’m not complaining, but I haven’t seen the family that much.”

Chris had been “pulling all-nighters” with his team in order to prepare his garage sale and celebrity auction that raised a staggering amount of money.

The silent auction included contributions from fellow celebs such as Holly Willoughby and Matt Baker, with items such as Sir Rod Stewart’s Cartier watch, Will Smith’s golf clubs, a guitar from Taylor Swift, Ant & Dec NTA Awards, Sharleen Spiteri’s Texas Flight Case, and many, many more up for grabs.

It finished at midnight last week and racked up a whopping £1.2million, all going to NHS charities.

Chris’ son Noah had also been doing a charity initiative of his own.

The 11-year-old reached his £100,000 target and more, by camping out in their garden every night since April to raise money for a voluntary sewing collaborative called Scrubs Glorious Scrubs.

He was originally hoping to raise £2,000 to help buy fabric for the volunteers, and his parents couldn’t have been prouder of him for raising as much as he did.

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky airs weekend at 6.30am on Virgin Radio.
