Chris Evans' co-star spills details of secret chats before children: 'Didn't want any'

Virgin Radio breakfast show host Chris Evans, 54, had a very different outlook on life when he was younger and it was nothing like the one he has now. In fact, if you’d have told teenage Chris that he was going to have been married three times and have five kids, he wouldn’t have believed you.

On Tuesday’s show, radio host and pal Mariella Frostrup joined the DJ to speak about her new afternoon show on Times Radio when it launches on digital next Monday.

But while she was telling listeners about what’s to come on her own radio segment, she also revealed an interesting insight into Chris’ past.

“I remember you sitting there and telling me – you were not in a good place at the time – but I remember you telling me adamantly that you were never going to get married, you were never going to have children,” she spilled.

“You were never going to do anything like that because it was for other people and now look at you, you smug married dad!”

During his time at BBC Radio 1 and Virgin in the past, Chris is also said to have had “well publicised relationships” with Kim Wilde, model Rachel Tatton-Brown (whose sister was a researcher on his first big gig The Big Breakfast), assistant producer Suzi Aplin, Anthea Turner, Geri Halliwell, and Melanie Sykes.

The former Top Gear host married actress Billie Piper in 2001 before they divorced in 2007, but remain on good terms.

She attended his wedding to current wife Natasha Shishmanian, and featured as a guest on his radio show last year.

The same year his divorce from Billie was finalised, Chris met Natasha, a golf pro, part-time model and columnist for Golf Punk magazine.

They became golf partners in the All Star Cup celebrity tournament in Newport and started dating.

The couple have two sons, 11-year-old Noah and seven-year-old Eli.

In 2018, he and Natasha then welcomed twins, Walt and Boo.

Chris said at the time: “Ping and Pong arrived safe and well last night. Both healthy, both strong, happy and blessed, as was mum throughout.”

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show continues weekdays on Virgin Radio at 6.30am.
