Chris Evans claims he's 'closer to his twins than his other sons'

Chris Evans has admitted that having twins has changed his dynamics with his older sons, leading him to be closer to his newborns.

Speaking on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, the 53-year-old DJ opened up about how his seven-month-old twins with wife Natasha Shishmanian, have demanded ‘full-time parenting’.

And he feels that means he now has a closer bond with them than his other sons.

Chris was talking to Hollywood actor Sam Clafin, 32, about fatherhood and how nine-year-old Noah and six-year-old Eli have had to fall in behind the twins Boo and Walt.

During the candid chat, Chris admitted: “The thing with having twins is that I am closer to both twins now than I was with both Eli and Noah at the same age.

“Because there was [only] one of them and mum does most of the natural things.

“But with twins you get to have the other, you get to have one all the time – you are a full-time parent and it changes your relationship.”

Sam meanwhile called for dads to receive more paternity leave, as he said it was a struggle to return to work after welcoming a new child.

He has a three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter with actress wife Laura Haddock but admitted it was difficult to switch back into work mode.

Sam said: “It was definitely a trying time, being a new father and trying to go back to work.

“Men should get more paternity leave, so many men are expected to go back to work so soon after having babies.”

So bad was his tiredness, Sam admitted that he fell asleep on the set of The Corrupted, as he filmed in London.

Sam explained: “There is one scene in particular where I am running around in the East End of London, I had a gun in my hand, and the director started trying to feed me direction.

“I actually fell asleep standing up. I was genuinely very, very tired. Dad tired.”
