Children in Need 2019: Tess Daly and Ade forced to apologise for technical blunder

Tonight, the BBC One TV schedule experienced a shake-up as Children in Need aired from 7.30pm right up until 12.30pm. Presenting the first part of the show was Tess Daly and Ade Adepitan and those watching at home saw them cross over to a live video link to find out how children up and down the country had been raising money and awareness for the charity, However, as the presenters started to speak, the sound wasn’t in sync and many televisions across the nation experienced a picture technical glitch. After cutting an interview short the camera returned to the studio and Ade issued an apology.

“Now then, all over the country you fabulous folk have been doing your thing for Children in Need,” Tess said.

“So let’s have a look at what’s been going on in your area!”

The camera then cut from the studio to the postal museum in London.

“Hi I’m Riz Lateef, welcome to our Children in Need party where we’re thanking some of our fabulous fundraisers from across the capital,” the presenter explained.

However, many noticed how the sound from her microphone was not matching up with the movement of her mouth.

Instead the sound was lagging behind what she was trying to say.

This was not the only issue experienced in this segment, the picture glitched several times and pixellated.

Riz then crossed over to her co-star Wendy in the mini mail room who’s picture kept freezing.

After losing the sound for a moment, the camera returned to Riz who’s sound had finally caught up.

“See here, has a very special reason for raising money for Children In Need,” she explained.

Those watching at home saw a young boy with a violin reply: “Yes, basically one of our next door neighbours…”

However, his mic was on so low his reply was almost inaudible.

To add to this, he kept looking past the camera and Riz then interrupted and added: “Why don’t you pay it and show us because I know it’s for your neighbour.”

See then began playing his instrument and then the screen changed to the Pudsey graphic followed by an advertisement.

The screen then returned to Tess and Ade in the studio and they explained: “Hey, we are experiencing technical problems in London so apologies for that.

“Could be some wet leaves in the wifi or something like that,” Ade joked.
