CHESTER Zoo’s Lantern Festival is on again this year – and will be open to visitors throughout November and December.
Each year the zoo puts on a magical light display with illuminated wildlife and enchanting animal displays – and this year will be as magical as ever.
The family-friendly zoo reopened in July after being closed for moNths due to coronavirus.
And although some restrictions will still be in place, organisers promise to provide the same fun as previous years.
This year the zoo will be turned into a spectacular winter wonderland, with the grounds covered in snow and the addition of some unexpected festive encounters.
Guests who visit the grounds can visit up to 11 different “worlds” – including a cactus desert complete with glowing cacti, frogs and colour changing chameleons.
You can also check out the black and white “Zebra Grasslands,” for what’s promised to be “an illuminating adventure like no other”.
But if that doesn’t sound exciting enough, other highlights include an observatory-themed experience, where visitors will be treated to a visual display of the planets above their heads.
Meanwhile, the “Underwater” world will take visitors under the sea, where they’ll get to meet a show-stopping octopus.
What’s more, visitors will get to experience their favourite stories in the Peter Pan-inspired “Second Star to the Right” world or “Walking in the Air”, a display straight out of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman.
At the heart of this year’s event will be a sunset-themed display, filled with animal lanterns taken from the African Savannah, which will be surrounded by trees and glowing grasses.
The event’s organisers say: “We’ve carefully planned this year’s event to keep you safe, but we’re sure you’ll have the same memorable Chester Zoo experience,”
The fun-filled event will run from 13th November to 23rd December – and you can book book your tickets Chester Zoo’s website.
