Cheryl reveals song she thought was ‘one of the sexiest ever’

Cheryl thrilled fans in more ways than one as she made her return to the music spotlight on Saturday at a London music festival.

The 38-year-old singer was the headline performer at The Mighty Hoopla in the capital – and absolutely dazzled on stage as she wore a sparkly pink outfit to belt out her hits.

Fans of the singer have waited many years to see her live on stage after she took time out of the spotlight following the birth of her son Bear, aged four, who she shares with Liam Payne.

And there was an added bonus for fans as Chezza took to the stage at Brixton’s Brockwell Park on Saturday night – as 35-year-old Girls Aloud co-star Nicola Roberts was welcomed on stage to perform with her.

The flame haired singer joined Cheryl to help belt out arguably her biggest hit – with a popular remix of the tune performed by the duo which incorporated the iconic Robin S song Show Me Love.

One fan shared a clip of the song on Twitter, writing: “Cheryl and Nicola did the Brit Awards version of Fight For This Love,” – referencing when Cheryl performed the song at the 2010 Brit Awards.

Nicola stunned on stage alongside her former band mate in a black dress.

And fans were beyond excited to see the two perform together at the big weekend event – with some now hoping it could be a prelude to a full-scale Girls Aloud reunion.

One festival-goer told The Mirror: “It was incredible to see Cheryl and Nicola back on the same stage again after all these years.

“Both ladies were absolutely stunning and had the entire crowd singing along and going wild.

“Of course it would have been even more incredible to see the rest of the Girls Aloud members on stage too. I think everyone there really hopes there can one day be a full group reunion.”

Girls Aloud were formed back in 2002 as band members Cheryl, Nicola and Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh were joined together by ITV reality competition Popstars: The Rivals.

They went on to unleash five albums, two greatest hits album, and 23 singles – including the smash hits Sound of the Underground, The Promise and Sexy! No No No…

The group disbanded in 2013 – but there have been hopes the ladies may reform at some point to mark their 20th anniversary next year.

Plans for a reunion are saddened, however, by the news that 39-year-old Sarah is fighting for her life after being diagnosed with cancer.

The singer shared the heartbreaking news in August last years as she told fans via social media that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer which had spread to “other parts” of her body.

While earlier this year, Sarah shared the devastating update that she had been told the cancer was terminal and that she “won’t see another Christmas”.
