Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud 'stressed' about transfer deadline day deal

“He’s obviously free in six months’ and he had an agreement with Inter, and other clubs like Lazio and Spurs also came.

“But the problem is now Chelsea are saying: ‘We can’t let you go because we didn’t sign another striker, and we need you to stay to have three strikers in the squad.’

“And he has been like: ‘But we had an agreement! That I could go, because I’m not going to play, clearly nothing is going to change now unless Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi both get injured.’

“So it’s a tricky situation for him. With the Euros and at his age as well, he really needs to play more.
