Juventus have made contact with Chelsea over a move for Willian in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian winger’s contract expires in the summer so he is free to talk to foreign clubs in January.
Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to be reunited with Willian, who played under him at Chelsea last season, as he believes the 31-year-old can boost his side in their nailbiting title battle against Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table.
The Bianconeri are currently two points behind leaders Inter, who are managed by another former Chelsea boss in Antonio Conte.
But Willian has told friends that he would prefer to stay at Chelsea rather than work under Sarri.
Willian has made big improvements working under Frank Lampard this season, and Chelsea are not keen to sell him.
He has missed only one Premier League game all season, scoring four goals.
Even if Willian could be persuaded to join Juve, Chelsea are unlikely to allow him to leave unless they can sign a suitable replacement in January.
They will now be able to sign players in the new year window after the Court of Arbitration for Sport last week halved their transfer ban.
Olivier Giroud is expected to leave Chelsea next month, with clubs in Italy and in the MLS interested in the French striker.
Like Willian, Giroud and teammate Pedro will also be free to talk to foreign clubs in the new year as their current deals run out in the summer. Pedro is a target for Aston Villa.
Juventus are also believed to be interested in Emerson, but are eyeing a summer move for the 25-year-old – while his fellow left-back Marcos Alonso is a target for Inter and Roma.
