DAVID LUIZ has hailed under-pressure Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri for his “amazing” job.
The Blues take on Arsenal in Wednesday’s Europa League final but Sarri’s future remains up in the air despite securing Champions League football for next season.
However, Luiz feels he should take huge credit for his first season in charge.
Luiz, 32, said: “I think he is doing amazing, he is doing a great season.
“He has to try to teach us to understand his mind, the way he looks at football.”
But Luiz’ team-mate Marcos Alonso believes it has been hard for the Italian to adapt due to the former banker’s non-football background.
He said: “The gaffer is still learning, he was not a football player either so he is learning a lot this year.”
Sarri has guided Chelsea to a third-place finish in the Premier League and two cup finals this season.
But the 60-year-old has reportedly agreed a deal to take over Italian giants Juventus in the summer.
It is said that former Napoli boss Sarri has signed a three-year contract worth £6million with the Serie A champions.
SunSport understands the Blues have former player and Derby manager Frank Lampard in their sights as his replacement.
