Chelsea make approach for Real Madrid defender as Frank Lampard transfer search continues

During these talks, they made it clear to Real that the defender would only want to stay if he was guaranteed regular minutes.

Hakimi’s current contract with Madrid runs until June 2022 and the deal has a release clause of around £50million.

As for Chelsea, Lampard has struggled to find a left-back he is completely happy with this season.

The former Derby boss has given minutes to both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri this campaign but has not settled on one or the other.

Alonso has made 20 appearances this season, while Emerson has played in 18 games.
