Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have made an impressive start to the season – and now they have received an injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Brentford
The 30-year-old tested positive for Covid-19 before Chelsea ’s Champions League clash with Juventus in Turin at the end of last month and was subsequently forced to undergo a period of self-isolation.
The Frenchman missed the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Juventus in Turin and the 3-1 win over Southampton last weekend.
However, Kante’s time in isolation is now complete, meaning he has been given the green light to resume training with the Blues.
Kante trained away from the rest of the squad on Friday but is expected to return as normal upon the conclusion of the international break.
As a result of his isolation, Kante has not taken part for France at the ongoing Nations League finals in Italy.
While most of Tuchel’s senior squad are away with their respective countries, the likes of Saul Niguez, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi were also involved in training.
Trevor Chalobah, Ross Barkley, Malang Sarr and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were the other senior players who trained for Tuchel’s side to keep fit during the break.
But one particular international call-up has caused a stir with Chelsea boss Tuchel.
Will Chelsea win the Premier League this season? Comment below.
The Blues boss recently criticised FIFA and claimed his side have been left in an “impossible” situation following Thiago Silva’s involvement with the Brazil squad.
The 37-year-old will take part in three international fixtures for his country, the last of which will take place at 1.30GMT on Friday morning, the day before Chelsea’s clash with Brentford.
As a result, Silva will not be able to feature for the Blues against Brentford in the Premier League on October 16.
“He will go and then he will play for Brazil and then he will come back on the matchday versus Brentford,” said Tuchel.
“This is the life of international breaks, this is the situation of international breaks in 2021.
“Like it or not, what can I do? Is it a good solution for us as a club? No. But we cannot hold him back.

“It is impossible if they call him, he needs to go. Otherwise he gets suspended from FIFA.
“There is no choice and it is something we have to live with.”
After an impressive start to the season, Tuchel’s side currently lead the way in the Premier League with 16 points from seven games, one better than second-place Liverpool who have 15.
