FOOTBALL fans looking to book a last-minute trip to Madrid for the Tottenham vs Liverpool final have been left bitterly disappointed by soaring costs.
Thankfully there are still a number of cheap package holiday deals for Spain over the weekend outside of Madrid, just a few hours by train ride.

Flight and hotel searches have increased by 500 per cent in the last week, according to lastminute.com, with furious Brits finding flights to Madrid, normally costing as little as £22 each way, as much as £750.
Some fans have even claimed their hotel bookings have been cancelled, only to be charged triple the cost.
However, we’ve rounded up some of the best deals you can find in other Spanish destinations such as Valencia and Costa Blanca for under £400 including return flights.
Each destination is just a short train ride away from the match and won’t break the bank.

Six nights in Valencia including return flights – £364pp
A week in Valencia when staying at the Hugo Beach Hotel costs just £364 per person when travelling as a couple.
The deal also includes return flights with Lufthansa from London Heathrow when flying out Monday to Sunday.
Football fans can then pay just £54 return to travel to the match, with the train ride under two hours.
Three nights in Benidorm including return flights – £265pp
Brits who can’t get as much time off work can instead book a long weekend to Benidorm, travelling from May 30 to June 2.
Staying at the Bermudas 313 apartments, return flights from London Heathrow are also included, with a two and half hour train ride costing just £71 return.

Less than three hours by train, Brits can spend seven nights in Costa Blanca at Sunsea Village for less than £300.
Return flights are included with Jet2.com, flying out on May 27 and returning June 3, allowing enough time to get to the football final as well as have a holiday.
