In the same way that Kate Middleton can rack up a mega waiting list for a pair of Zara jeans, Charlotte Tilbury can convince thousands of women to sign up for her new beauty launches.

Indeed, the A-list makeup artist, who has worked with everyone from Amal Clooney to Kate Moss, has the midas touch when it comes to beauty launches.

Whether it’s her Pillow Talk lipsticks worn by pretty much every celebrity or her glow-giving powders and foundations, a stampede of women form every time she drops a new product. Her latest launch, a ‘magic serum’, is no different.

Despite the world being in lockdown, over 8,000 people have joined the waiting list for the makeup mogul’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir. Hey, even the mystical and elusive name is making me want to sign up.

So what on earth is all the fuss about? And is this £60 bottle of ‘magic’ really worth your hard-earned cash?

Well, 93 per cent of women, who said it make their skin look younger, seem to think so.

Charlotte describes the new launch as the ‘supercharged secret to your skin’s best future’, explaining: “”I wanted to create a quick and easy targeted serum to improve skin’s outward appearance, making it more glowing, hydrated and youthful-looking, whilst also enhancing skin texture for smooth makeup application.

“I have collaborated with expert scientists to bring you a groundbreaking serum for hydrated, youthful-looking skin. A magic matrix of ingredients, expertly blended in a high-performance formula to give your skin a magic boost.”

The serum is packed with Replexium – a peptide designed to firm skin and reduce fine lines, Golden Vitamin C for a brighter-looking complexion, and hydration powerhouse Polyglutamic Acid – a supercharged skincare ingredient that’s over 4X more hydrating that Hyaluronic Acid.

Sounds good, right? The stats seems to back it up… According to clinical trials, hydration levels were increased by 172% after 1 hour, skin waterloss was reduced by 43% after 1 hour, skin appeared more elastic by 122% in 8 weeks and skin saw a 49% boost in firmness in 8 weeks.

We’ll try it out ASAP and let you know if it lives up to the numbers.
