Charlotte Church 'under investigation' for running school classes at her home

Charlotte Church is reportedly facing an investigation over claims she’s running a school at her home without permission.

The famous soprano revealed plans to accommodate up to 20 pupils in an annex of her home in Dinas Powys, South Wales, earlier this week.

But it’s now said that Vale of Glamorgan Council is yet to grant planning permission for it.

According to the BBC , council bosses said people had been complaining that the building was already being used for teaching without their permission.

But Charlotte has denied the claims and insisted she is operating legally, the website says.

It reports the council is yet to decide whether or not to take formal action, but they could issue notices telling the singer to stop or reverse any unauthorised work, if they decided to.

Charlotte homeschooled her own children

Charlotte lodged plans for the classroom after home-schooling her own children Ruby, 11, and 10-year-old Dexter.

Charlotte, 33, said she wanted to “liberate” other children by opening the non-fee-paying school to students aged between nine and 12.

She said: “Since I’ve had kids, I have become much more interested in education and child development.
