Channel Seven’s The Daily Edition has a much-needed makeover… after its ‘ugly’ blue set was labelled the WORST on Australian television

Channel Seven’s The Daily Edition has received a much-needed makeover.

On Tuesday, the weekday program revealed its new appearance for 2020.

Host Sally Obermeder shared a behind-the-scenes video from the transformed space, saying: ‘What a day! New set and new look.’

The new set has replaced its dark blue and purple background with a soft blue and yellow look with frosted glass.

A notable change of desks has also occurred with the transformation, to match the lighter and fresher set design.

But while there is a fresh appeal to the show’s look, Seven have kept their faithful presenters and hosts as is.

‘Could not be more proud to be a part of this show with this team,’ Sally added.

Her co-host Ryan Phelan added: ‘New set. New attitude! [Sally] and I loved debuting the fresh @dailyeditionon7 surroundings – the first of many exciting additions.’  

The show also had their logo updated, moving from a purple design to a yellow and blue circle.

Sally has been a host of The Daily Edition since its inception in 2013, while Ryan joined the program as a co-host in 2016.

The show features a combination of live breaking news, as well as live interviews with various personalities and entertainment updates.

The Daily Edition airs weekdays from 2pm on Seven
