Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s love story could rival any romantic movie.
And following their exciting engagement announcement on Wednesday, their first picture together, taken six years ago, has resurfaced on Instagram.
In the photo, a starstruck Chandler, 22, is seen posing alongside Bindi, 21, during a tour of Australia Zoo while the champion wakeboarder was on a trip Down Under in November, 2013.

At the time, the American, then 15, had no idea Bindi, then 14, would one day become his fiancee.
‘Spent yesterday at the Australia Zoo along with Bindi Irwin and staff! One of the most educational and inspirational experiences I’ve ever been a part of,’ he wrote.
Tagging Bindi directly, he added: ‘Thanks for having us there! It was so awesome being shown around by y’all! Definitely want to come back.’

After she didn’t hear from him for a while, she discovered that he’d actually contacted her mother Terri and asked for her permission to stay in touch.
‘He sent a letter asking my mum if he could stay in contact with me,’ Bindi said.

Bindi, who is the daughter of late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin added: ‘And then mum gave the letter to me and said, “Is this person real?”‘
In July 2015, Bindi announced on Instagram that Chandler had become a fully fledged Wildlife Warrior.
For several years, the pair enjoyed a long-distance romance, with Bindi previously saying they exchanged ‘old fashioned’ love letters around this time.
Chandler reportedly then moved to Queensland to live with Bindi in in 2018.
