Celtic supporting Martin Compston jokes he's ‘happy pubs are shut’ after loss

Martin Compston joked that he’s “happy pubs are shut”, after watching his team lose to bitter rivals Rangers.

The actor described Celtic’s performance as “p*ss poor viewing” after watching Rangers win 2-0 thanks to a double from Connor Goldson in the first match between the two this season.

The Line of Duty star lamented the loss of big players such as Eduoard, Forrest and Christie but added that the team could have “no excuses” for the defeat.

Tweeting after the final whistle, the Greenock-born actor wrote: “Well that was p*ss poor viewing could’ve been more, no complaints.

“No doubt with eddy, Forrest, Christie and Julien available we’re a different team but a big enough squad to play better than that, far too flat from the off.

“First time in ma puff happy the pubs are shut.”

Compston, who normally lives in LA, is back in the UK to film the latest series of the hit show Line of  Duty.

The star was recently pictured on set with his co-stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar sporting masks created by Scottish kilt makers Slanj in support of homelessness charity Shelter.
