Celtic daft Rod Stewart snapped sleeping in his Hoops top after hosting charity bash

Rod Stewart has been pictured sleeping in his Celtic football top after hosting and performing at an event where he helped to raise £1million for charity.

The rock star was snapped by his wife Penny Lancaster lying in his bed with a Hoops top on with his name, Sir Rod , printed on the back.

She took to her Instagram account, with more than 89,000 followers, to say: “The Celtic loving boy having a lay in after an incredible night, raising 1 million for @teenage_cancer, now he’s off to Manchester for his first show of the UK tour ending just before Christmas.”

The post, which was shared earlier today, has so far racked up over 2,300 likes with many people showing Rod their love after he helped to raise £1m for The Teenage Cancer Trust

The fundraiser was organised by Rod and Penny with 180 guests invited to the Memories that Matter event in London.

The Teenage Cancer charity fundraiser comes just two months after Rod urged men to have their prostates checked after revealing he won his own battle with cancer because it was caught early.

In September the 74-year-old music legend told how he was diagnosed with the disease in February 2016 during a routine checkup and secretly fought it for three years.
