Neil Lennon insists there has been no developments in Arsenal’s bid to sign Kieran Tierney this summer.

Arsenal have seen one bid for Tierney turned down by Celtic, who are holding out for £25million.

The Celtic boss was speaking ahead of their Champions League qualifier against FK Sarajevo and issued an update on Tierney and how the transfer speculation is affecting him.

‘I have taken no notice of the headlines,’ he said. ‘I am well aware of where we are in terms of the situation.

‘I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so has not been on the training ground as yet

‘It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable but until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

‘It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here.’

Tierney is thought to be keen on a move to Arsenal, but is a life-long Celtic fan and has not played for any other club.

Unai Emery is desperate to sign a left-back that can take over the position at the Emirates and the Gunners are confident they can strike a deal with Celtic, with Napoli also interested in Tierney.

Arsenal are poised to lodge an improved big, but have so far been frustrated in their attempts to land Emery’s top targets this summer due to a modest transfer budget that is reportedly only £45m.
