Celebs pay tribute to Love Island's Mike Thalassitis one year on from his death

Love Island star Mike Thalassitis passed away one year ago today, and friends and co-stars of Mike, who was just 26 when he died, have shared emotional tributes to him.

Montana Brown, who spent time with Mike in the Love Island villa, posted a fitting tribute to her pal saying she wished she had more time with him. She said: “Wish I had more time with you darl, you really had a heart of gold. I know you’re in a happier, better, more kind place. You were dealt a lousy card and I’m sorry that you never get to be a dad and have a family as I know that’s all you ever wanted.”

Jonny Mitchell also wrote some kind words about his friend, saying he was too good for this world. He said: “Can’t believe a whole year’s gone by since you left us bro. Still find it difficult to comprehend you’re not with us any more. You were too good for this world! Never forgotten Magic Mike.”

Geordie Shore’s Sam Gowland also posted to remember his friend. He said: “1 year ago today, where does the time go! Rest easy brother.”
