Celebrity Great British Bake Off horror as star faints and another slices finger

The Great British Bake Off is set for a bloodbath in tomorrow’s episode after two celebs require medical treatment.

YouTube star Joe Sugg, 28, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing last year, will have fans worrying after he faints and falls into the arms of a paramedic.

Joe fainted after he chopped the top of his finger with a knife while making a tray bake, just seconds into the first task, the Signature Challenge.

When the paramedic arrived, Joe said: “I might need to sit outside for a bit,” before he then fainted.

But things then got even worse after Alex Jones had to get a shard of glass removed from her hand.

The 44-year-old The One Show host got the glass caught in her hand after she failed to lock her electric mixer and her mixing bowl smashed, leaving her screaming out in pain.

She told The Sun: “I had to go straight off to the paramedic for stitches.

“He said, ‘I’m just going to put in the anaesthetic’ and I was like ‘No, there’s no time for that, I have a showstopper to make, just do it!'”

The YouTuber is then stitched up as he carries on baking

A show insider told the publication: “It was utter carnage and there’s been nothing like it in the history of the celebrity specials. It was a shock they could carry on.”

The celebrity special, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, will also feature singer James Blunt and This Morning presenter and Celebs Go Dating star Alison Hammond.

The special episodes have been running for the past four weeks, with tomorrow’s episode being the fifth addition.

In previous weeks it featured Louis Theroux, Jenny Eclair, Ovie Soko, Russell Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, James Buckley, Patsy Palmer, Scarlett Moffatt, Johanna Konta, Caroline Quentin, Joel Dommett, and Tan France.

Eek, seems like it’s all kick off this week, doesn’t it?

Celebrity Great British Bake Off airs tomorrow at 8pm on Channel 4
