Casey Batchelor explains why she's enjoying pregnancy so much more second time around

Casey Batchelor says she’s enjoying being pregnant even more the second time around – even if she’s already enduring sleepless nights.

The model and former CelebrityBig Brother star is expecting her second baby with fiancé Dane Goodson.

The 35-year-old and her beau welcomed daughter Florence in May last year, and now they can’t wait to become a family of four.

Casey opened up about her pregnancy during an exclusive chat with Mirror Online about her new pregnancy yoga app.

Casey says Florence doesn’t really understand that her mum’s pregnant, but that there’s a part of her changing body she’s a little bit obsessed with.

The brunette beauty said: “She doesn’t really know yet, she just likes to poke my belly button a lot because it sticks out, but she doesn’t really get it yet.

“But I think I’m more excited this time than I was the first time because I know what’s coming now, I know what to expect, I know there’s going to be sleepless nights and I know it’s going to be really tough, but I know what’s going to come out of it.

“Florence at this age is so amazing, she’s so funny and I’m excited for her as well because she’s going to have a best friend to play with and it’s going to be so nice to see them together.

“I know it’s going to be tough as well though and me and Dane joked the other day that we’re going to have no life now for three or four years and that we’re going to hate each other for the first six months because of the sleepless nights – nothing prepares you for that.”

She added: “It doesn’t surprise me when I see people who have babies then months down the line they split up. Having a baby is such a test on your relationship, you’ve got to be strong to get through it or have loads of help. Otherwise if you don’t and you’re not strong, you’ll split up.”

Despite loving her pregnancy the second time around, Casey did admit that she’s been struggling recently because she’s had to look after poorly Florence.

She told us: “I’m so excited but Florence has been poorly so I’ve been looking after her as well, 32 weeks pregnant with a poorly baby is just too much.

“The pregnancy has been different this time in the respect I started off much healthier and fitter because I’d been doing the Yoga Blitz.

“With Florence I had sickness and dry heaving the whole way through but I’ve not really had that this time.”

She added: “I’ve had the odd day but not as bad and I’ve been doing my pregnancy yoga training as well while I’ve been pregnant so I’ve been staying quite active, but this third trimester has hit me hard.

“And I think that’s purely because I don’t get time to rest because I’ve got a baby.

“I tell everyone to enjoy their first pregnancy because you’ll never get it again.

“It’s going to be so lovely having them so close in age but it’s been tough because the baby keeps me up all night anyway because I’ve got to go to the toilet and switch sides and the baby’s moving, then I’m up at like half six with Florence so there’s no rest.”

Casey has had huge success with her Yoga Blitz app and had always hoped to expand it by learning more about pregnancy yoga.

She’d already booked a course, and as luck would have it, she ended up falling pregnant before it came around.

She said: “Obviously Yoga Blitz did so well and I was so overwhelmed. I’d always wanted to expand my training anyway so I’d booked to do a pregnancy teacher training course and then we fell pregnant so it was quite nice doing the course while I was pregnant because I know what someone expecting a baby will be feeling when they’re doing the moves.

“I filmed it pregnant as well, which was really nice because I had been planning to get someone in to film with but I ended up being able to do it myself.

“It’s not so much fat-burning like Yoga Blitz, this is more keeping healthy and keeping active in pregnancy with yoga but without being extreme about it.

“It’s not about raising the heartbeat and getting the weight off it’s about stretches that make you feel good and create space for the baby, and it helps with sciatica and carpal tunnel and gives you lots of stamina and strength which is great for labour and giving birth, and it creates strength in your arms because you’re going to need a lot of strength when you’ve got a baby to feed constantly.

“It gives you a lot of preparation for when you have a baby as well.”
