Caroline Flack’s tragic last photo taken hours before her death emerges ‘Funny Valentine’

Love Island host Caroline Flack died at the weekend at the age of 40.

The TV presenter was found dead in her East London flat on February 15, with a lawyer for the family later confirming that she took her own life.

Caroline’s heartbroken best friend Mollie Grosberg paid tribute to her pal on social media last night and shared a series of pictures of the star, who she said “always had a smile on her face, a naughty laugh and her heart open wide”.

One image posted by Mollie is believed to have been taken on Valentine’s Day shortly before Caroline’s death.

Mollie, captioned the picture, which she shared with her 9,795 Instagram followers: “Our funny valentine bought us cookies and oat milk this year.”

In the poignant photograph, the television host could be seen in a red night dress with her blonde hair swept into a messy top knot wearing a slick of scarlet lipstick to match her negligee.

She held the remote control in her hand as she adjusted the TV set.

In an earlier post, Mollie opened up about a “precious” moment she shared with Caroline and how looking after her best friend’s dog was helping her to cope with her death.

On Sunday, she said: “I kissed your head yesterday and it was the last time and it was the most precious feeling.”

Alongside a picture of Caroline’s dog Ruby asleep on the sofa last night, she wrote: “Having Ruby is the only thing making us smile right now. Love you Ruby.”

Mollie’s tribute on Instagram began: “I can’t even find the right words to say here and I’m sure it sounds rambly but she deserves a million tributes and more.”(sic)

She continued: “Everyone remember her in the best way. Carrie always had a smile on her face, a naughty laugh and her heart open wide. When she let you in, you were the luckiest and she taught me to love everyone and forgive everyone. She forgave so easily and loved so hard and I’ll never ever ever stop loving her.”

Caroline’s best friend went on to say: “Today feels like it’s not real and I wish it wasn’t. This girl was a force and always said the right thing, always made me feel safe and looked after even during her own sh*t.

“This is the worst pain I’ve ever felt and we all feel it. This massive and painful and heartbreaking loss for all her friends and her incredible family.

“I love you forever and always my baby girl. I kissed your head yesterday and it was the last time and it was the most precious feeling. I love you forever and ever and ever.”
