Caroline Flack’s friend received worrying messages from ‘sad’ star day before she died

Presenter Caroline Flack died on Saturday morning, aged 40, after she took her own life. Pal Nicola McLean, 38, has since spoken out about the worrying messages she received from Caroline just a day before she died.

Model Nicola told how she had received a message the star had shared with her “close friends” list on Instagram.

“Caroline had made her Instagram to just her close friends and she posted something where I could tell she wasn’t in a great way,” she told Dan Wootton’s talkRadio Drive Time show.

Nicola added that she “knew” Caroline wasn’t doing as well as she had been previously.

She added: “And that post I knew… so I messaged her as anyone else would do and she was sad.

The emotional caption read: “I’ve lost count of all our holidays and trips.Last week she tagged along on a work trip to Barcelona with me. Waiting in the hotel while I did meetings.

“We went on a tuk tuk, walked, saw the sights, went to a house of curiosities and got our caricature done. We’d go for dinner then watch Ab Fab till we fell asleep.”

“She was calm and hopeful, but so weak. I’m so so glad she came and we got to have one more adventure together and a few last laughs,” she added.

“I miss you so much already xxxxx.”

Following the devastating news of Caroline’s death her celebrity friends have rallied together to push her “be kind” mantra.

Yesterday, Ian Stirling started Love Island, which was not aired over the weekend, with a touching tribute to the star.

He urged viewers to “be kinder, always show love and listen to one another”.

Ian’s speech was concluded on a personal note: “I’m gonna miss you, Caz.”
