Caroline Flack’s former boyfriend Danny Cipriani has shared his devastation at the TV presenter’s tragic death, and has admitted he’s ‘never cried this much’.

The Love Island presenter died by suicide on Saturday (15 February) at the age of 40.

Last year, Caroline and Danny were reported to have dated briefly before splitting.

Following the sad news of Caroline’s death, Danny received nasty comments from a Twitter troll who made digs about his rugby career.

Responding to the troll, Danny hit back: ‘You couldn’t be more misguided. I don’t know who you are. I sincerely hope u get the love you never received. This has nothing to do with a game.’

The 32-year-old played for Gloucester on Friday (14 February) in their game against Exeter.

Danny then added: ‘I missed her call because of a f*****g game. I’ve been up all night. Never cried this much. But I’m showing u it’s ok to be vulnerable.’

It was confirmed last night that Caroline took her own life at her home in London.

Tributes have poured in for the former Xtra Factor host following the sad news.

Caroline’s boyfriend Lewis Burton broke his silence today and said: ‘My heart is broken we had something so special.

‘I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.’

The 27-year-old model continued: ‘I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday.

‘I love you with all my heart.’

At the time of her death, Caroline was awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to assault following an incident with Lewis in December.

Laura Whitmore, who took over presenting Love Island when Caroline Flack stepped down, fought back the tears when paying tribute to her friend on her BBC 5 Live show on Sunday morning.

‘Caroline Flack made a decision to take her own life and I want to talk about it,’ Laura explained.

‘I want to talk about her and give her the respect that she deserves and that she didn’t always get. Anyone who knew Caroline knew she was vivacious, loving and had a passion for life, which is why none of this makes sense.’

She later stated: ‘So to listeners, be kind, only you are responsible for how you treat others and what you put out to the world.’
