Caroline Flack’s ex-boyfriend Andrew Brady has started a memorial fund to raise money in the late star’s name.

The Love Island host died on 15 February, after taking her own life, aged 40.

And her former fiancé – who is currently in Australia – has launched a fundraiser for Mermaids, a charity which offers support to trans children in the UK.

In a message on the JustGiving page, he said: ‘Please join me in donating towards the Caroline Flack Memorial Fund.

‘Mermaids was a Charity that Caroline was very passionate about. May her legacy live on and be remembered for the bright, confident and smiley individual she was.

‘Rest in peace Carrie x.’

At the time of writing, the 29-year-old has raised £607.89.

Caroline died by suicide last week, and was found at her east London home.

A lawyer for the Flack family later confirmed the news, in a heartbreaking statement.

Shortly after her death, Andrew shared a lengthy blog post, titled Caroline Flack dead – who is to blame? – in which he lashed out at those around the ITV star.

In the post, the Apprentice star took aim at her management, claiming they ‘sold her out’ over her struggles with depression.

‘In 2015, Caroline won Strictly Come Dancing. At the same time her long term relationship ended. The day she won the final of Strictly was one of the lowest she’d ever felt,’ he said.

‘You were with her at the time and you did nothing. Before Christmas in 2018 she had to prevent a harmful story getting out as it was leaked by your team.

‘In exchange for this story remaining a secret she had to give a tell-all interview about her depression following Strictly.’

‘Whether or not you agreed with her to exchange the story makes no difference. You still sold her out. And it was written in Black and White,’ the Celebrity Big Brother star continued.

‘She had depression. But you never got her any help. You sold her out countless times.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Caroline’s reps for a comment.
