Caroline Flack’s friend Lou Teasdale has spoken out, after the former Love Island host took her own life shortly after Lou left the house.

Flack died on Saturday 15 February at the age of 40, with a lawyer for her family confirming she took her own life.

Celebrity hairdresser and stylist Lou spent the night with Caroline as family and friends were worried for the TV star’s welfare.

However, the following morning, Caroline convinced Lou that she was ok, and she left to go to the shops at around 9.30am, with Flack’s body being discovered later that day.

Following the tragedy, Lou shared an assortment of pictures with Caroline – including one just days before her passing, which saw Caroline smiling widely.

Lou wrote: ‘Here’s us like 5 days ago really happy lolling telling each other we’re really fit AND funny ? and 5 years ago, and 10 years ago. I love you. I hope you are at peace now. Til the end my beautiful friend, Caroline x.’

On her Instagram story, Lou wrote: ‘Look after your friends’, while in another post, she shared a picture of Caroline with her now eight-year-old daughter Lux when she was a baby.

The blogger wrote: ‘This little lady misses you “Calorine”.

‘Anyone have any nice advice for me with an 8 year old learning about grief? She’s lost 2 very special people who lived with us in the space of 12 months and I wanna make sure I’m saying the right thing (if there’s such a thing).’

Friends stayed with Caroline on Valentine’s Day, including Mollie Grosberg, who shared the final picture of Caroline from 14 February, and at 10.30pm, an ambulance arrived in response to a 999 call made from the flat.

Paramedic crews assessed Caroline and decided that she did not need hospital treatment, with Lou then spending the night.

A source told The Sun: ‘Caroline had been unwell on Friday but by the time crews got there she was feeling much better and was coherent and responsive to them. She refused to go to hospital.

‘Caroline was with Lou and other friends and so everyone was satisfied she would be OK.

‘Lou then stayed overnight. She was absolutely brilliant with her. On Saturday morning Caroline insisted she was fine and persuaded her friend to go home.’

The showbiz world has been left devastated by Flack’s death, with her friend and Love Island replacement Laura Whitmore presenting her BBC Radio 5 Live show yesterday in tears.

She said: ‘Caroline loved music, she loved to dance. We shared many a dancefloor; gigs, festivals. I met her just shy of 10 years ago at V Festival and then we became friends. She was bubbly and for such a small stature, commanded a room. She loved to laugh and had the most infectious chuckle.

‘She also had many struggles. I’m not going to pretend that she was perfect, but is anyone? She lived every mistake publicly under the scrutiny of the media. Caroline loved love.

‘That’s all she wanted, which is why Love Island is so important to her because the show is about finding love, friendship, having a laugh.

‘The problem wasn’t the show, the show to work on is loving, and caring and safe, and protective. The problem is the outside world is not.’

Love Island was cancelled on Saturday and Sunday night out of respect for Caroline’s family, but will return tonight with a tribute to the star, who presented the ITV2 show for five series.
