Caroline Flack 'to host Winter Love Island when it launches in January'

Winter Love Island is reportedly opening its villa doors in January and Caroline Flack is in line to host the ITV2 show.

The 39-year-old presenter is reportedly the first choice to reprise her role on Love Island, when the show moves to South Africa in January 2020, for a first ever winter edition.

The Sun Online has reported that the new show is rumoured to be six weeks in length.

And Caroline has ‘committed to jetting to and from South Africa’, very much like she does now with the successful summer show from Majorca.

South Africa would be the location for Winter Love Island

A show source told The Sun that it was “a no brainer to fill the January reality TV slot left by Celebrity Big Brother ,” as the show this year had enjoyed “bumper viewing figures.”

They added that “Caroline is now synonymous with the show,” and bosses believe think “it wouldn’t seem right to have anyone else hosting it.”

To ensure that the show is a well-oiled machine, there are plans to “use the same production crew too so it should all run like clock work.”

It has been reported that Love Island bosses would also like comedian Iain Stirling to bring his cutting wit to the voiceover.

Caroline loves to make dramatic entrances on Love Island

The choice of South Africa will ensure that there is blazing sun every day for the islanders to top up their tan and hopefully fall in love.

The source added: “Winter Love Island makes sense as fans adore the drama and love triangles and everyone wants to enjoy a bit of sun on screens in the cold winter months.”

*Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
