Amy Hart revealed Caroline Flack went out of her way to ‘reach out’ to the Love Island contestant’s best friend in her time of need after the pal got attacked online.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Amy discussed the number of times the presenter made sure the contestants and their friends were doing okay.

She recalled: ‘She was amazing from putting us all at ease from the first day, like in the breaks between filming, she was like, “You alright girls? You alright? You Alright?”

‘When I came out of Casa Amor, she was basically holding my hand basically telling me to shut up because I was baring my soul when I really shouldn’t have been.

‘Then at Aftersun, she sat me down at the afterparty and talked me through everything – how to move forward and what the industry’s like and she reached out to my best friend as well to help her navigate the dark side of social media.

‘My friend posted a post about the death threats I was receiving and Caroline followed her to message her and be like, “It’s fine. Just ignore them and move on.”’

Caroline was found dead in her home in east London on Saturday, February 15 after her friend ‘popped to the shops’.

An inquest heard the presenter died by suicide and was identified by her twin sister Jody Flack.

Her death came 18 days before she was set to face trial after being charged with assault following an incident with boyfriend Lewis Burton.

She denied the charges while Lewis had pushed for the charges to be dropped.

Asked how she felt after hearing the news, Amy said: ‘I was gutted, really gutted, but send love to all her friends and family.

‘I didn’t know her but the change she did for all of us… She went above and beyond in her role as presenter.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
