Caroline Flack boyfriend: Why was Caroline not allowed to speak to boyfriend Lewis Burton?

The former Love Island presenter’s death comes weeks before she was due to go on trial for allegedly attacking her boyfriend, former tennis player Lewis Burton with a lamp.

The court heard that Burton had “received significant injury to his head”.

The alleged attack reportedly took place on December 12 at Caroline’s flat in Islington, north London.

She had pleaded not guilty to the charge and the court case was due to commence next month.

Following her death, Caroline’s manager has criticised prosecutors over what they called a “show trial”.

After she had pleaded not guilty to the charge, she was released on bail, with conditions which prevented her from having any contact with the 27-year-old model.

Caroline was banned from contacting Mr Burton directly or indirectly, and from attending his address, following her charge for assault.

The defence team applied for no bail conditions at the first and only hearing in the Caroline Flack court case.

However, the CPS argued against it and the judge agreed, and the bail condition preventing any direct or indirect contact between Caroline and Mr Burton was put into effect.

The 40-year-old presenter’s defence team petitioned the court to remove these bail conditions, but District Judge Julia Newton refused the application to overturn this ruling in December.
