Carole Baskin tricked into Rolf Harris and Jimmy Savile birthday shout outs

Tiger King ‘s Carole Baskin was this week tricked by an Australian comedian into sending a birthday message to ‘Rolf Harris’ and was furious when she found out the truth.

Aussie comedian Tom Armstrong posted on Tik Tok, saying that he had once again tricked another celebrity into sending a video message to someone they hadn’t heard of on Cameo.

Cameo is a video service where celebrities are paid for creating personalised messages for fans.

Unbeknown to Carole, Rolf Harris is a convicted paedophile, and also gives a shout out to his ‘friend’ Jimmy Savile.

90-year-old Harris was sentenced in June 2014 to five years and nine months in prison for 12 indecent assaults on four teenage girls between 1968 and 1986.

He was released on licence in 2017 after serving nearly three years in prison.

And Jimmy Salville was a BBC personality for decades but after his death in 2011, hundreds of allegations of sexual abuse were made against him.

Armstrong said: “Surely I couldn’t get another American celebrity to shout out Australia’s most notorious sexual predator – bonus points if they mention UK’s most notorious sexual predator.”

Armstrong paid Baskin for a personalised message and she was more than happy to oblidge.

Opening her personalised videos, which she charges £165.17 for, Carole said: “Hey all you cool cats and kittens, it’s Carole Baskin at Big Cat Rescue.”

“Hi Rolf Harris – all your kids wanted to get together and tell you that you have really touched them and that they love all that you have done for them.

“I hear there’s a lot of great stories about you and your best friend, Jimmy Saville – can’t wait to hear those.

“Happy birthday Rolf.

Reacting to the video after finding out its true connotations, Carole spoke to the Mirror Online, she said: “I am amazed at the lengths (and expense) people will go to in order to trash my reputation.

“Of course, I have never heard of Rolf Harris, and would not have done the Cameo had I known.

“The signature line in my email reads, ‘I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made – Franklin D. Roosevelt’, and I think that tells you all you need to know about the kind of people who abuse me in their efforts to make others hate me.”

It isn’t the first time that Tom has managed to convince a US celebrity of making a distasteful shout-out.

He previously managed to get 7th Heaven star Beverly Mitchell to give a shout-out to Australian serial killer Ivan Milat.
