Carol Vorderman: Countdown legend's daughter's emotional post amid unseen snap 'It's hard'

Carol Vorderman, 58, who was previously married to Patrick King for a decade, shares daughter Katie King, 28, and son Cameron King, 23, together. The former Countdown star’s eldest daughter has since taken to Instagram and revealed a painting she sent to her mum during lockdown.

Katie revealed she had been “finding it pretty hard” to concentrate on her work and decided to get creative instead.

The mathematician’s daughter shared a throwback snap of herself as a child alongside Carol.

Katie explained she used the photo as her muse to create her own painting to replicate the heartwarming photo.

In the sweet photo, Carol could be seen sporting a bright red blazer as her brunette tresses hung loosely down her shoulders.

Katie went on: “If you are feeling a bit pantsarama and can’t concentrate then I would really recommend it.

“If you’re anything like me and can’t paint/draw for the sake of it but need a reason… make it into a card… I sent this to my mum telling her all the reasons I think she’s fab!”(sic)

She completed the heartwarming message with the hashtags “#thanksmum #wellbeing #painting #phd #focus #90skid #90s #90shair #craft #bored #mum.”

Carol liked the sweet Instagram post, as many social media users flocked to comment on the mother and daughter’s resemblance.

One person commented: “This is so cute! I love the drawing. So good to just pick up a pencil and go – takes your mind off all sorts.”

Another person remarked: “Wowza you look soooo like your mamma Katie now you are grown!”(sic)

While a third person added: “Soo cute! Love the painting.”

Meanwhile, Carol recently revealed her daughter is currently researching a hydrophobic cancer drug.

The TV personality gushed about her daughter’s important work in a candid interview with MailOnline.

She said: “I am very proud of her, the hydrophobic cancer drug uses molecules that are allergic to water.

“So it doesn’t have to mix with the blood. It is hoped to alter how you deliver treatments in certain cancer patients.”

Carol jokingly admitted in reference to her daughter: “The apple fell up the tree rather than from it.”

“If I am a Version 1, Katie is a Version 10.7,” she added.
