Carol Vorderman addresses 'heartbreaking' reaction to her This Morning appearance with son


Former Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman has taken to Instagram to respond after being inundated with support following her son’s appearance on This Morning. Carol’s son Cameron made his debut on the ITV show to talk to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about overcoming his severe learning difficulties, after recently graduating from university with a Masters degree, overcoming “years of bullying and struggles”. Overcome with emotion, Carol thanked her fans for the “outpouring of love” that had been shown towards her son as she posted a series of heartwarming pictures from the ITV studios.

Posting in view of her 171,000 followers, the mathematician detailed the “heartbreaking” response to their chat alongside a sweet snap of Cameron sitting on the sofa next to Holly and Phil earlier today.

She wrote: “Cameron on @thismorning with @hollywilloughby and schofe….talking about his severe learning difficulties and how he has taught himself strategies to overcome them.”

The proud mum went on to gush over her son after he recently graduated from university.

“Now with a first class honours degree and also a Masters degree he starts a job as a 3D animator next week,” Carol penned.

Carol penned: “Once they have made it their strength their resilience to ‘failure’ is immense, very little can harm them.

“I’m determined to do something now and help. Please watch this space.

“And thank you for the outpouring of love for my baby boy (now 6’5″),” the star ended her post.

The proud mum also posted two behind-the-scenes snaps of herself with Cameron, who at 6’5″ towered over his mum.

Taking to the comments, the star’s followers praised her and Cameron for their important interview on the ITV show.

Emma Jo wrote: “I started today feeling sadder than I’ve ever felt at the realisation of what the future may hold for my son. I’m now feeling a little more hopeful. Thank you.”

While Toby Crozier penned: “He’s a credit to you. What a star.”

“I loved watching you both. It actually gave me so much hope for my little boy. Cameron is such an inspiration,” Ciara Turley added.
