Carol Vorderman 2019: Countdown star speaks out to 'quash rumours' after glamorous pics

The former Countdown favourite, 58, stepped out wearing a glamorous white coat with a furry collar when she attended Cheltenham Festival. Carol Vorderman turned heads in the chic jacket, pairing it with a figure-hugging green dress to show off her famous curves. Last week, she also enjoyed at day at the races in Chepstow, this time wearing a long sheepskin-style coat, knee-high boots and a wide-brimmed hat. She later shared a picture of the ensemble with her 395,000 Twitter followers, saying: “Hooray for a lovely lovely day at @Chepstow_Racing.

“If you haven’t been should you go,” Carol urged her fans. “It’s pretty and friendly and a perfect day out in fresh air and smiles.”

One Twitter user, however, appeared concerned about whether the TV presenter’s clothes were made from real fur or not.

“I know this may get me blocked but please answer… Are you wearing real fur?” they asked.

“I know you’re an intelligent woman so just hoping to quash the rumours. Thank you.”

Carol shut down any queries she might be wearing real fur, replying: “Fake fur or sheepskin in whichever pic you’re looking at.”

“Thank you so much. I thought as much,” her fan replied.

According to the Daily Star, last year, Carol was accused of wearing real fur following outings at the races when several social media users sent her angry tweets.

The publication reported one Twitter user even went as far as to send her a picture of an animal caught in a trap.

The government banned fur farming in Britain in 2003 but real fur products can still be imported from abroad.

Meanwhile, the sheepskin look to which Carol was referring saw her parade her incredible physique in a pair of skintight jeans and a jumper.

The denim clung to her two-time Rear of the Year-winning bottom and she emphasised her slender waist with an oversized belt.

Carol is best known for her maths skills on Countdown, which she joined when the Channel 4 show first aired in 1982.

She remained a fixture on the series until her departure in 2008.

The stunning star was later replaced by Rachel Riley, 32.

She has since appeared on Loose Women and Lorraine as a host, occasionally standing in for Lorraine Kelly, 59, on the latter.

The mother-of-two also presents the Pride of Britain Awards every year.
