BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood, 57, responded to her BBC colleague and fellow meteorologist Simon King, who posted a heartwarming clip in honour of the NHS Clap for Carers made by a filmmaker.
In view of her 174,000 Twitter followers, Carol gushed over the frontline workers in the NHS who are supporting patients diagnosed with coronavirus.
The BBC favorite penned: “This is lovely. THANK YOU doesn’t even begin to convey what I feel.
“I will be out there at 8pm clapping and making a right hullabaloo in honour of those who put themselves at risk for us #stayhome.”(sic)
Simon responded to the tweet, saying: “That just made me bl**dy cry.”
“To show us the way to lead and inspire us, to protect us from harm and fight the virus.”
The clip also shows the British public coming out of their homes to clap for the NHS amid the pandemic.
Fans inundated Carol with messages, as many social media users said they would be joining in the nationwide clap yesterday.
One person said: “Just been out and did our bit. A lot more people tonight. Well done. Remember Stay Home.”
Another person commented: “Thank you for sharing. I will also be outside making as much noise as I can for all our heroes out there right now.”
While a third person added: “Thank you for sharing this @carolkirkwood. A beautiful poem that brought tears to my eyes. Perhaps they could be broadcast on TV so those not on social media can appreciate it too.”
Carol’s post comes as the coronavirus continues to spread and has become a global pandemic.
The UK Government guidelines have told the British public to remain indoors in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19.
