Carlos Santana collapsed onstage during a performance in Clarkston, Michigan at the Pine Knob Music Theatre. 

The 74-year-old guitar player was seen surrounded by people onstage, which came about 40 minutes into his set, Fox 2 reported.

According to the outlet, Santana was playing his song Joy when he fell, and concert organizers  subsequently said the show was canceled amid the medical event, and requested fans to pray for him.

Fox2 Detroit anchor Roop Raj tweeted an image of the photo taken by meteorologist Lori Pinson, writing that ‘medical personnel [were] on stage’ and the ‘crowd [was] asked to pray for him because of a “serious medical” issue.’

Huff Post editor Philip Lewis shared a clip of a group of people escorting the musician off of the stage with the caption, ‘Carlos Santana waved to clapping fans as he’s helped off the stage.’ 

The artist famed for classics as Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va is in the middle of the Miraculous Supernatural 2022 tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. There are 19 dates remaining on the tour, which is scheduled to end August 27 in Tampa, Florida.

He is slated to restart his House of Blues Las Vegas residency September 14, and will play multiple dates that month, prior to a two-week stretch in November.
