Care home business appoints new regional manager



A former regional director of care homes at Bupa has joined Renaissance Care as its new central belt regional manager.

Alan Twigg was promoted to his role at Bupa having quickly progressed through a series of roles having started as a staff nurse in 2010 and advanced to a home manager role in 2014.

He later became the regional director of care homes for Bupa across the North East of England and Edinburgh.

In his new role he will oversee seven Renaissance Care central belt homes. The homes Croftbank House and Rosepark Care Home in Uddingston; Letham Park, Mathieson and Glencairn in Edinburgh; Whitecraigs in Thornliebank, Glasgow and Milfour House in Edinburgh cater to more than 270 residents.

Twigg said: “Future plans include continuing to grow the business, increase staff engagement, build the brand and reputation of each home within the local communities.

“I hope to drive agency down and improve the health and wellbeing of employees across the care homes.

“My goal is to support in the development of home managers in skills and experience, improve and maintain quality with regulators, improvement in staff retention and support people to love working for Renaissance.”

Louise Barnett, managing director of Renaissance Care, said: “Alan is a brilliant addition to our ever-expanding team, his previous experience will compliment Renaissance Care’s plans for growth and our focus on general wellbeing across our homes.”
