Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson clapped back at Instagram trolls who tagged them in ‘homophobic’ comments about their relationship this weekend.
British model Cara, 26, called out ‘disgusting’ commenters for suggesting that 29-year-old US actress Ashley should ditch Cara and find a ‘religious’ man.
The comments, captured by Pop Crave, were posted underneath a video published by a fan site purporting to show a woman binding her friend’s hands with rope and walking her like a dog.
The commenter said: ‘You can see Cara Delevingne tying up and slapping a woman… The video is from last week.
‘EVERY week there is something disrespectful towards Ashley Benson. I’m so glad Ashley is not around Cara anymore. Cara Delevingne is always so disrespectful. Ashley deserves better.’
Another said: ‘‘Ashley I know you are here. I’m serious you need to stay away from that devil and never go back I’m sure many strong handsome religious man would take you back in a heartbeat.
‘You are not like this you aren’t gay you love men and you need one.’
After the comments directly tagged both women, it was Ashley who led the replies, writing: ‘You need to mind your own business, stop making things up.’
But Cara followed it up by telling the trolls: ‘You are fucking disgusting! If you have a problem with true love then come and say this shit to my face instead pathetically hating through Instagram.
‘I genuinely feel sorry for you both, you are clearly not happy with your lives and have far too much time on your hands.
‘Maybe get a hobby that doesn’t involve being homophobic and hating others for being happy.’
Cara and Ashley went public with their romance last August after months of speculation.
Paper Towns actress Cara has previously dated St Vincent, Michelle Rodriguez and Jake Bugg, while she is rumoured to have hooked up with Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora and Harry Styles.
Ashley is believed to have previously dated Ryan Goode in 2011 but she is notoriously private about her romances.
Whilst avoiding referencing Ashley specifically, Cara was uncharacteristically candid about her past relationships with men and women in March, when she talked about her ‘feral’ sexual desires.
She said: ‘That whole courting process of power is very interesting. And it’s a difference with men and women.
‘I’m always very submissive with men. Always. But with women, I’m the opposite. So it’s weird,’ she told RuPaul Charles on his podcast, What’s The Tee?
