Captain Marvel end credits: Captain Marvel post credits scene reveals HUGE Endgame hint

Captain Marvel flew into box office fame this year, with almost one billion dollars in revenue less than a month after release. The film is one of three to be released by Marvel this year, with the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame coming next month. Endgame will wrap up the ‘Infinity Saga’ a name given by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to the first 21 films in the Marvel franchise. The eagerly awaited post-credits scene after the first credits in Captain Marvel reveals a major clue about what is to come.

What is in the Captain Marvel post-credits scene?

Seasoned Marvel fans will know each film comes with one, two or even seven post-credits scenes.

Captain Marvel has two, one which reveals certain details about the next film, and an entertaining skit involving Goose the cat.

The first post-credits sequence is from Avengers: Endgame itself, and follows on from an Avengers: Infinity War scene in which Nick Fury can be seen contacting Carol Danvers via a specially modified pager.

The post-credits sequence opens with Nick Fury’s transmitting pager housed within a pod at the Avengers HQ.

Looking inside are familiar heroes Captain America, Black Widow and Bruce Banner.

The three heroes discuss who exactly the device is communicating with, and look to find a way to turn it back on.

As it turns off, Black Widow says: “I wanna know who’s on the other end of that thing.”

Just a split second later she gets her answer, as Captain Marvel is stood behind her.

Her presence is completely unannounced, and before the scene ends, she simply says: “Where’s Fury?”

This is all we get in terms of a clue about the next film, showing Captain Marvel joins our surviving troupe of Avengers.

The explanation surrounding this meeting will come later, when the film is released on April 26.

What we do know is this is the first time Carol has returned to Earth after 23 years.

She left Nick Fury in 1996 to help a small surviving colony of alien Skrulls find a new home.

In Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers said she would return only during an emergency, so we can confirm this is her first return to our planet since then.

The main trailer for Avengers: Endgame also shows her meeting more Avengers team members, as she squares up against Thor.
