 Say my name.

The trailer for the highly-anticipated Candyman reboot was released on Thursday and it gave horror fans the thrill they’ve been waiting for.

A two-minute clip was released for the film produced by Get Out’s Jordan Peele and directed by Nia DaCosta and it featured plenty of blood, mirrors, bees, and even a spooky version of Destiny’s Child track Say My Name from 1999.

The film is described as a ‘spiritual sequel’ to the 1992 horror classic as it returns to housing project Cabrini-Green in the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.

Not much is known about the actual plot of the movie but it is safe to say much of it will revolve around  Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character Anthony McCoy.

Yahya  is featured heavily in the trailer as he even shows off his muscular figure by going shirtless in front of a mirror.

Mirrors are an essential part of the slasher franchise as the legend claims that the vengeful ghost, Candyman, can be summoned by saying his name five times while facing in a mirror.

Another prevalent thing in the trailer were bees including one scene at the beginning where a bloody pocket mirror is surrounded by the flying insect.

In the original film from 1992 the antagonist Candyman is a vengeful ghost of an African-American man (played by Tony Todd in the original) who was brutally beaten, mutilated and fed to the bees by having honey smeared on his body for a forbidden interracial love affair in the 19th century.

Obviously this is where the ‘Say My Name’ tie in is from in the trailer as Beyonce’s voice could be heard throughout the clip.

Candyman is set for release in the US and UK on June 12.
