Cameron Boyce’s poignant final interview two months before sudden death

Cameron Boyce spoke about his love of charity work and philanthropy in his final interview two months before his sudden death.

The Disney star, 20, died in his sleep on Saturday July 6 due to an “on-going medical condition.”

In May, the Grown Ups star opened up about his charity work and fundraising efforts in an interview with Haute Living.

The young actor spoke about his love of “helping to fulfil lives” along with “inspiring others to become engaged in campaigns and charity work.”

He said: “I’m following in the footsteps of some really strong men and women who have showed me what it means to give back; it’s the greatest way to fulfil yourself.

“Every time I talk to someone who shares that similar passion, we talk about how there aren’t many feelings more euphoric. Changing someone else’s life positively changes yours for the better as well.

When asked about what inspires others, Boyce replied: “Many people have the heart to give back, but a lot don’t know how to.

“I try to be the bridge for those people– whether that means getting them involved in one of my campaigns or inspiring them by showing them a blueprint of how to get others engaged.”

The interview came off the back of a recent award Boyce received for his charity work.

The Descendants star was honoured with The Pioneering Spirit Award at the 9th Annual Thirst Gala for his efforts to bring awareness to the Global Water Crisis and raising more than $30,000 (£23,960) for Thirst Project to build two wells in Swaziland.

News of Cameron Boyce’s death was confirmed by his relatives.

A family spokesperson told ABC: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.

“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.

“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.

“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
