Cameron Boyce’s dad, Victor, has broken his silence on the Disney star’s death.

Cameron had died in his sleep aged 20 due to an ongoing medical condition, with a spokesperson confirming his passing on Saturday.

Celebrities have since flooded social media with tributes to the young star and now Cameron’s father has shared his heartbreak over the heartbreaking news.

Victor told his followers on Twitter that he is ‘overwhelmed’ with the ‘love and support’ he and his family have received.

Publicly addressing his son’s death, Victor wrote: ‘I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received. It really does help to ease our pain of this nightmare I can’t wake up from.

‘I can’t thank you guys enough.’

The doting dad proudly states in his Twitter bio that he is father to Cameron and daughter Maya and a sweet picture of his kids is his cover photo.

A spokesperson for the Boyce family confirmed Cameron’s death to ABC news in the US on 6 July.

They said: ‘He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.

‘The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.’

An autopsy has now been completed, but the exact cause of Cameron’s death is still unknown and ‘pending further investigation’.

Cameron, who fans will recognise from Disney’s Descendants and the Grown Ups movies, had been involved in a number of projects before his death, including a third TV-movie for Descendants and pilot Mrs Fletcher.
