We now know more about what time the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare update will be available, and what it will include.
Activision has provided a helpful rundown on what new modes and maps will be launching in the December 18 patch, which is being described as a Season 1 refresh.
Classic levels will be brought to Modern Warfare this week, including Vacant and Shipment, along with a new mode fans of the older COD titles might recognise.
There will also be the opportunity to unlock fresh loot and level up faster, thanks to a new Double XP event.
So there’s plenty to look forward to this week ahead of the big Call of Duty Modern Warfare update release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
WHEN IS THE CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE UPDATE TIME?
According to Activision, Call of Duty Modern Warfare will receive its next major update on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
This is being scheduled as a Season 1 refresh, meaning new content to explore and unlock.
When it comes to a set time, Activision has hinted that the new COD download will be available at around 6pm, GMT.
This comes from the news that a new gift pack will be available to claim from the COD store at that time.
Which suggests that all the new content being planned for launch later today will be available by the evening, UK time.
For gamers in the United States, the new Modern Warfare update should be available to download by 10am PT.
MODERN WARFARE PATCH NEWS
According to Activision, this week will see the debut of new game mode, Cranked, the Operator Nikto, new maps for standard Multiplayer and Gunfight, and new Special Ops experiences that will add to the Modern Warfare narrative.
This is on top of the new festive map changes being planned and the Double XP Weekend which will be going live later this week.
For those wondering about the background of the new operator, Nikto is a former Russian FSB deep cover agent that has been reassigned to Spetsnaz in the Allegiance forces.
The ‘Nikto Operator Bundle’ also features a watch, weapon blueprints, and other personalisation items. In addition to the Nikto Operator Bundle, the Modern Warfare store is going to add two more Featured Bundles: ‘Blood Stained’ and ‘Holideadly’.

Cranked is a fast-paced, high octane Deathmatch where players race against the clock to get kills or suffer an explosive fate. NEW MAPS
Still to come this season, Shipment – the classic Multiplayer map – will debut for traditional 6v6 and for the Gunfight mode. With this map playable in various mode, there will be a host of strategies to discover on this battleground. Vacant also from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will take its place in the 6v6 Multiplayer map rotation. Ready up for these two reimagined maps that will offer up the opportunity for epic combat experiences.
The Holidays will come to Docks, the Gunfight map, in the form of a thematic re-skin: Over Winter. Battle through tension and now twinkling lights in this map full of cheer!
